A Wholesome Bank Holiday: Walks around Coombe
Another bank holiday weekend in lockdown. Things feel a little bit lighter as the smell of summer is in the air and lockdown restrictions are slowly starting to ease. Just like how seasons change, my ache for a creativity shift does do.
I spent a wholesome bank holiday Monday walking around Coombe, a beautiful small village located on the River Fal and just a few miles away from Truro. The village was incredibly quiet, with just a few walkers taking in the scenery.
I have felt a sort of flatness over the last few weeks, something that’s been difficult to shake up from within. Ive been desperately soul searching for some sort of inspiration between the pages of books, conversations with people and on the beaches that I call home. Nothing, a block. And then I realised whilst sat on a bench watching the diamonds dance across the River Fal. It’s time. It’s seasons. It’s change.
The longer evenings and blue skies, which is an instant mood booster. Fresh flowers, golden hour and splashing around in the ocean. The wine cork “pop,” and the smell of BBQs lingering in the air. The realisation that day by day, we draw closer to a summer which we’ve all been dreaming of for over a year. We are leaving the darkness of Winter; a period of time, and entering a new chapter. Take that sentence, as you will. It’s not just the season that feels a little lighter.
& with that, my third eye shifts again. Things don’t feel so moody around here anymore.
