Gardens in Cornwall: Trelissick Garden (National Trust)
There are so many incredible National Trust spots in Cornwall. We are completely spoiled with flourishing gardens, and historic interest that there’s plenty of NT places to visit, come rain or shine. Over the last few weeks, we have visited Trelissick Gardens, Glendurgan Gardens, and Godrevy, all belonging to the National Trust.
A National Trust membership is £72 per year or £6 per month (or less if you’re under 25 years old.) Your membership grants you access to all National Trust locations in the UK (and abroad) and car parking is free for members too. Usually, NT car parks are £5+ for the day, so just one trip almost makes up the month’s membership. It’s a no-brainer!
On a rainy Sunday, Josh and I decided to stay local and go for a walk around Trelissick Gardens. Located on the Helford River, Trelissick is a house and garden, set in an estate with maritime views. There is something to see in every corner of Trelissick, including secret doors, carpets of bluebells, and viewing huts.
Enjoy a walk through the garden, or venture down to the shingle beach which can be found through the fields. Trelissick Gardens also has a shop, second-hand bookshop, and a cafe that serves local pastries, light lunch, and coffee.
