Inner Social Meet-Up: 12 Beach Road in Newquay

Have I told you guys about my latest venture? Inner Social is a brand new collection of social events around Cornwall. Our vision is to collaborate with new and exciting tourism and hospitality businesses in Cornwall. Not only is it an opportunity to meet new people and catch up with familiar faces, but to visit a new venue too. Unfortunately, things are on hold due to COVD-19. I can’t wait for it all to be over so we can continue to host our meet-ups.

Since taking the freelance leap a year ago, I always found it relatively tricky to meet other creatives, socialites and small biz owners. I attended plenty of “networking” events but I soon got bored with the stuffy talks, awkward handshakes and the people that weren’t interested in talking to just a ‘young girl.’⁣

It was a few months ago that I decided it was about time to create something that allowed people to connect, collaborate and just enjoy an hour or two away from a normal working environment.

We held our first event at Lawrance’s Bakery & Bar, one of Truro’s most Instagrammable coffee, cake and cocktail shop. We had a variety of fantastic women in business, creatives and socialites join us for the first event (we even had dogs.. what a win.) The cocktails and cake were AMAZING. Lawrance’s is one of my favourite spots in Truro - check out this blog post about my first ever visit to Lawrances.

We held our second Inner Social event on the 12th March at the awesome 12 Beach Road in Newquay. We welcomed 18 lovely ladies from a number of different career backgrounds. It was a truly incredible evening full of laughter, cocktails and insane tacos.

The instagrammable 12 Beach Road overlooks the iconic Towan Beach in Newquay Bay on the North Cornish Coast. The restaurant has been recently refurbished and offers a quirky all-day dining experience. 12 Beach Road made us an exclusive spread of mini tacos which included veg, meat, fish and gluten-free options. Honestly, the spread was AMAZING!

Unfortunately, the Inner Social April Meet-Up has been postponed. We can’t wait for the current situations to be over so we can continue to bring you exciting and meet-ups at some of Cornwall’s quirkiest venues. In the meantime, give us a follow on Instagram over at @InnerSocialCornwall.
