Things to do in Cornwall When it Rains: Unique Adult Activities

The days of soaking up the rays in Cornwall are officially over and as we say hello to October we also have to accept colder temperatures and rainy days. Finding something fun to do In Cornwall when it rains can be difficult but it doesn’t have to be! Exploring Cornwall in the winter can still be enjoyable however I’ve combined a list of Cornwall’s quirkiest adult activities for when you don’t want to face the rain.

Escape Rooms - I absolutely LOVE an Escape Room - it’s like taking part in a real Crystal Maze episode! Gather a team of players (usually 2-10) and enter a locked themed room for 60 minutes; from there you will need to complete a number of puzzles to be let out. There are a number of really great Escape Rooms in Cornwall including (and not limited to) Escape Time in St Ives, Puzzle Room in Truro and Locked In Camborne.

Jump 4 - Jump 4 is Cornwall’s largest trampoline park and with 66 interconnecting trampolines, the famous angled wall trampolines, launching decks, foam pits with launch pads, dodgeball court, Battle Beams, Ninja Warrior course and The Wall, it makes for a pretty fun day out! The Games Room - Fancy a little bit of friendly competition? The popular Games Room in Falmouth takes on a modern twist on the old school pool and snooker bar. We are talking 9 pool tables, 2 match snooker tables, 2 table tennis, air hockey, darts and table football. Grab a drink from the bar and jump into a game to banish those rainy day blues. Wine Tasting - Well you guys know how I feel about wine, right? Again, there are a number of places in Cornwall that host wine tasting days however Trevibban Mill nr Padstow offer 8 wines for £15 and you don’t have to book (unless it’s a big group!) Spa Days - We are spoilt for choice when it comes to spas in Cornwall. I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited a fair few and there’s nothing better than relaxing in a pool when it’s raining outside. Read my reviews on Fistral Beach Hotel, The Scarlet and Bedruthan Spa. St Michael’s Hotel and Spa, The Headland and The Cornwall Estate and Spa are also wonderful alternatives.

Raze the Roof ADULTS ONLY - Surely I’m not the only person who loves the idea of an adult SOFT PLAY? Seriously though, Raze the Roof offers an adult-only party night on the first Saturday of every month. I embarked on this wild evening a few years ago and it was SO MUCH FUN. Axe Heads - Ever thought about giving urban axe throwing a go? Nope, neither had I! Urban Axe Throwing is the new quirky indoor sport sweeping the UK. Throw over a 1hr session, side by side in Axe Heads unique venue located at Heartlands in Pool. During your session you will also receive expert guidance throughout from their full trained Axe instructors.
