Cornwall: A Thought Piece

Whilst flicking through the pages of this month’s Conde Nast Traveller, The World Made Local, I couldn’t help but think about my feelings & emotions towards my own home turf.

For me, Cornwall is home but not just geographically, emotionally too. Being by the ocean is like receiving a warm hug with magical healing powers - it connects and refuels. We know the corners of the county only from discovering themselves after months & years of exploring, or from generations above us that want to share their secrets. From kids as we grow into adults we climb down cliffs, swim around to coves that are inaccessible by foot, and push our way through overgrown pathways to find something special. It’s an adventure destination but a calming one at that. There is an element of wild but also a feeling of safety. Post covid, Cornwall felt quite slow - but there’s a new shift that feels unavoidable. There’s an increasing amount of people creating, starting new ventures and doing really good things - a silver lining from having so much down time. Cornwall offers a place to be free, creative and to grow authentically. It’s a wild adventure destination, but a calming, magical one at that 🌙

Here are some photos that sum up a magical summer of adventure, discovery and fulfilment.
