Gardens in Cornwall: Glendurgan Gardens (National Trust)
If you’ve been following this blog recently, then you’ll know that I’m on a mission to visit as many National Trust places as possible. Every year, I purchase a NT membership in the pursuit to save some money whilst galavanting around Cornwall. As well as saving the pennies, National Trust spots also tend to be the most beautiful.
Last month (yes, I’m a little late writing this) Josh and I went for a rainy walk around Glendurgan Gardens. Glendurgan Gardens is a hamlet located on the Helford River near Falmouth. Trebah Gardens can be found to the right of Glendurgan, however, I often find that Glendurgan offers a more peaceful experience due to Trebah being more child-friendly. They are, however, just as beautiful.
We ventured through the valley, camera in hand, in the hope that the gardens would trigger my photographic creativity. With 300 acres of woodland full of exotic plans and a sheltered beach at the end of the garden, Glendurgan really is a sub-tropical paradise with plenty to see and capture on camera.
Like many National Trust spots, Glendurgan also has a coffee shop and a second-hand book shop to roam. If you aren’t an NT member, then I highly recommend jumping on board. For just £ 6 pm you have endless areas of interest to explore, both in Cornwall and the UK.
