The Best Spas in Cornwall: Carbis Bay Hotel and Spa
There are several luxury spas in Cornwall, however, Carbis Bay Hotel really offers something completely out of the ordinary. After a beautiful lunch at Walter’s on the Beach, Ellie and I made our way down to the newly-refurbished spa for a wholesome afternoon of relaxation by the sea.
An outdoor spa experience in late October? I was slightly concerned about how we could possibly enjoy an outdoor spa in torrential rain and 13 degrees. Surely Carbis Bay Spa was built for a blue sky and heatwave? Oh ~ absolutely ~ not.
Not only does the pool offer a world-class view across the beach, but is also heated to 29 degrees. Ellie and I spent the afternoon swimming as the rain poured down on us. Being in warm water during a torrential downpour felt completely magical. After this experience, I would choose stormy weather over blue skies any day.
The outdoor complex also has a sea view sauna and jacuzzi to enjoy. After a couple of hours of watching the storm roll in, I was invited indoors for an intensive back, neck, and shoulder treatment, working on the deep tissue. It was absolute bliss and felt a whole new level of relaxation afterwards. View their treatment list here. If you don’t fancy going outside then there are several cosy seating spaces inside. Ellie and I wrapped up in our dressing gowns (which were provided) and made ourselves at home, with a good book and coffee in hand.
Personally, this was one of my favourite Cornish spa experiences. It was unexpected due to the weather, but that’s what made it so special. Watching the waves roll in, from the comfort of the heated jacuzzi with the rain pouring down on us was beyond magical. It was the grounding nature boost that I needed. Thank you Carbis Bay for a wonderful day.
*this was a complimentary experience however all opinions are my own, we had an amazing time!
